Transition Year Mental Health Project
From the 14th to the 18th of November, Transition Year students from across the country will be on campus to participate in our unique Willow Grove mental health project.
This project includes work experiences across the campus and an innovative Mental Health Awareness programme at Willow Grove.
The TY project featured on the Monday's RTE news bulletin, you can watch it here
Students will organise fundraisers for our Adolescent Services and spread the word that Mental Health Matters when they return to their schools.
Mental health problems are common in young people although too few seek or receive help. Building awareness through this school based programme will enhance awareness of mental health issues and facilitate help seeking.
We recognise the importance of early intervention of mental health problems in our population. Three quarters of adults with mental health disorder experienced symptoms before the age of 25 years.
We believe that this schools based education programme will significantly benefit young people, their families, and the wider community.
