Adolescent Mental Health Services
Access to Adolescent Service: Funds received provided treatment to adolescents who suffered from illnesses such as paranoid schizophrenia, serious depressive illness and anorexia nervosa.
Willow Grove Adolescent Service: To date €200,000 has been raised by the St. Patrick's Hospital Foundation toward building the new 14 bed in-patient adolescent centre, accommodating up to 150 adolescents each year. The aim of our adolescent centre is to equip young people between the ages of 14 and 18 years with skills to manage their own mental health, improve their quality of life and aspire to achieving their life goals in spite of mental health obstacles.
"Only you can change your life, but the people here can help you succeed. Without them I wouldn't be who I am today, happy, healthier and looking forward to a future."

Mini-Bus: By acquiring a mini-bus through the St. Patrick's Hospital Foundation, a real difference has been made to the lives of hundreds of teenagers experiencing severe mental ill health. A mini-bus will facilitate smoother and quicker recoveries by creating more opportunities for socialisation. For the young people, opportunities to behave as a regular teen will help their recovery by testing the coping skills learnt in the centre and reduce the stigma they feel being labelled 'mentally ill'.
Thanks to all of our donors who supported Adolescent Services at St. Patrick's University Hospital.
