Willow Grove Transition Year Project
Funded by our generous donor Key Capital, the Willow Grove Transition Year Project promotes mental health awareness and resilience in students, support students in planning their own mental health awareness project in their own schools and foster knowledge, understanding and destigmatisation of mental illness.
In the academic year 2010/ 2011, 17 schools and 34 students took part. Thanks to all of you who took part in the first year of this exciting project.
“The week was something I won't forget any time soon, it was insightful, eventful and very enjoyable.”
Student, TY Project 2010/11
“The girls had a terrific week. The whole area of mental health is so important for young people; education is so important to learn where to get help. It’s been a ripple effect for young people to open their minds. Such a valuable experience. Thanks to St. Pat’s.”
Teacher, Mercy Secondary School, Ballymahan, Co. Longford
Extremely positive feedback was received from teachers who were involved in the Willow Transition Year Project; Teacher after teacher told us,
‘Thank you! Our students gained a lot and are spreading what they learned about mental health.’
We look forward to welcoming our next group of Transition Year Students in November 2011.
